A team of non-Communist Party of China members from the Committee on Culture, Historical Data and Studies of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) conducted a survey in East China's Shandong province from July 14 to 18, which focused on strengthening the study and interpretation of fine traditional Chinese culture. 

The survey was led by Shao Hong, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and executive vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Jiusan Society.

The team visited the cities of Jinan, Weifang and Jining, where they toured museums, cultural centers, archaeological sites, historic and cultural areas and academic institutions. They had discussions with local officials and community representatives, examined efforts to bring traditional culture into schools and neighborhoods and explored cultural heritage preservation and education initiatives. The team also gathered insights and feedback from grassroots officials and residents.

The team noted that Shandong has effectively leveraged its rich cultural resources to promote the study and interpretation of traditional Chinese culture in a systematic and comprehensive way and has achieved notable results.

They emphasized the importance of upholding the correct political direction, further activating the enduring values within traditional culture, and carrying forward China's cultural legacy.

The team also stressed the need to tap into regional historical and cultural resources with innovative methods, and to pursue long-term, meticulous efforts in cultural preservation. They highlighted that strengthening cross-sector collaboration and pooling collective wisdom and resources are key to realizing the creative transformation and innovative development of traditional Chinese culture.

The team concluded by encouraging the CPPCC to fully utilize its role as a specialized consultative body to offer insights and policy recommendations on advancing research and interpretation of traditional Chinese culture.
